Intermittent Fasting is a big topic in the fitness industry. Rightly so, as it's such…
Today is going to be something a little different, and something that’s more for “entertainment purposes.”
Feel free to share this with your friends – I’m sure they’ll appreciate it! 😉 And let me know which one is your favourite.
See the 7 hottest celebs who all swear by Intermittent Fasting for maintaining their health and their looks, below…
1. Miranda Kerr
The Australian Victoria Secret Model, born in Sydney, has been rumoured to have been following Intermittent Fasting for many years now, and she attributes this to her success in getting in shape for certain photoshoots.
Now don’t get me wrong, she’s lean year round.
But for certain beach photoshoots she definitely drops some extra weight which you can see around her midsection and also her face (something I talk about a lot in the looksmaxing article).
Even into her late thirties she’s maintained peak physical appearance, despite what a lot of guys (and women) say about women declining in their 30s.
Yes, she’s the genetic elite. But I personally know women who are genetic elite (Scandinavians, Eastern Europeans) who declined in their TWENTIES by eating pizza every night.
It’s not genetics folks, it’s diet.
2. Scarlett Johansson
The mega-famous American/Danish actress has been known to fast for 12-15 hours for at least one movie role where she needed to be in great shape.
This was combined with some gruelling workouts apparently.
This isn’t necessarily what I suggest if you’re looking for long-term success (30 day transformations don’t work, and they don’t stick).
You’d be better off working out 3-4 times per week with a cut-off time at around the 60 minute mark or so. The James Bond program follows these principles, and is extremely effective for Men Over 40.
But her 12-15 hours fasting sounds perfect assuming she eats the right foods and doesn’t completely obliterate her calories (which being a Hollywood actress, may well have been the case).
A 10% calorie deficit is all you need within this Intermittent Fasting system – it’s more sustainable, it’s more enjoyable, and it’s more muscle-friendly.
3. Reese Witherspoon
Apparently the 44 year old (as of January 2021) doesn’t just do this for immediate fat loss results, but she actually lives the Intermittent Fasting lifestyle.
I’m starting to like her.
One of the highest paid female actresses, Reese Witherspoon (according to Jennifer Aniston) only consumes coffee and green tea in the mornings; meaning she literally follows the Intermittent Fasting system that I talk about all over Twitter and this blog(!)
Not only that.
But she’s also WELL over age 30, but she’s over 40 too (well past the point of typical physical decline for both men and women). Men Over 40, take note.
Now I don’t know much about female hormones, but I’m sure she’s got them on point. Obviously the male equivalent of this is to ensure that you’ve got your testosterone on point.
Your diet is the most important factor, because it will keep you below 15% body fat long-term. But sleep hygiene, supplements like Testogen, and intense training are all other factors to be considered under the ‘natural umbrella’.
4. Vanessa Hudgens
Here’s a brunette for you; Vanessa Hudgens is an American (actually a real mix of Irish, French, Filipino and American) actress/singer who first rose to fame starring in High School Musical.
In May 2019, she stated that she’s a huge fan of the 16/8 variation of Intermittent Fasting and had been seeing “great results” from the eating system so far.
She went on to say that she experienced “way more clarity, and I was more energised and felt even stronger in my workouts”.
16/8 fasting is the simplest form of Intermittent Fasting, because all it involves for the vast majority of people is shifting their ‘breakfast’ backwards by four hours, and replacing it with black coffee or green tea.
Despite it being so simple, it doesn’t make it any less effective.
5. Jennifer Lopez
I wanted to use J Lo as an anti-aging example.
At 51 years age(!) she still looks great. So if she can look great at that age as a woman, there’s no reason for you as a man not to look great at 61.
Yes you may need one or two operations. But this isn’t the main reason she still looks good. The main reason she still looks good is that she’s just refused to gain weight, lose the definition in her legs, and just ‘let herself go’.
Instead of making excuses about childbirth, she’s done what Bulgarian, Russian and Ukrainian women do (as I’ve Tweeted about before), and she’s improved her conditioning with age.
Because on some level, she knows she had to. And men do too.
The difference between her and you, is that you’ll have to put more work into your hormonal health, because without 700-1200 testosterone it’s difficult to maintain muscle and slow down the aging process.
You’ll have to avoid testosterone killing foods, and eventually may need to look into TRT (and I can assure you the jacked, good-looking male Hollywood guys will be doing this as a minimum).
I walk you through the entire step-by-step TRT process in the Ultimate Testosterone Manual.
6. Gisele Bündchen
Another Victoria Secret Model (this time Brazilian), Gisele has been in great shape her entire life thanks to her genetics.
But the past handful of years as she’s approached age 40, she’s needed to put more effort into her diet and exercise routine.
Yoga plays an important role for her for the latter, and Intermittent Fasting for the former. She’s been following the 5:2 variation of fasting. She eats normally on 5 days, then for the other 2 she fasts until noon, eating a total of only 500-600 calories for those days.
Some hardcore autophagy right there.
In fact, it’s not too dissimilar to a 48 hour fast. True, she’s not technically fasted the whole time, but the autophagy (self-cleansing) intensity would be fairly similar.
Extended fasts can be a fantastic way to lose a lot of weight very quickly, control blood sugar, and reverse Type 2 diabetes. It’s also a REALLY effective way to eliminate chronic inflammation, which is at the root of virtually all illnesses.
Check out the Ultimate Extended Fasting Manual for more information on exactly how to do this (you’ve got to get your training timing right, your supplement intake right etc.)
7. Elsa Pataky
Chris Hemsworth’s wife, and Spanish model/actress, she’s been incorporating Intermittent Fasting into her diet routine in order to keep herself lean.
Taken from an interview in December 2019, she had:
“Chris got me into fasting. So I’ve started fasting now, I was always like ‘Hmmm, I don’t know!’, and it’s really hard, but then I started reading about it.
Although, I was like ‘I don’t want to lose weight’—because it’s a great way to lose weight, if you need to lose weight—but you won’t lose weight if your body doesn’t need to. And I learnt that, doing it.
But I read that it was amazing for anti-ageing, so I was like ‘I’m in! I’m in!’. So he started it, and then I followed.”
Technically, the bit about not losing weight unless your body ‘needs to’ isn’t correct. If you’re in a deficit, you’ll lose weight whether your body needs to or not – just look at fitness models and bodybuilders competing at 5% body fat.
But she’s right about the anti-aging stuff, as she’s 44 now, and IF will absolutely help to slow down the aging process.
