To be fair, this could be very useful if you struggle to motivate yourself to get off the sofa in the evenings and go for a walk. Going for a walk will make you feel better after a long day at work evey single time, you just have to force yourself to do it.
A dog coming up to you and reminding you every 5 minutes will also help you to get off your ass. Not only does it make you feel better, but it also helps to obviously burn calories, manage your appetite, and reduce the damage of your super-sedentary lifestyle.
I’ve always liked Paul Carter, and what he talks about is very similar to what I do. I talked about how I lowered my body fat set point significantly and the benefits I found, and I used a dietary system very similar to what he talks about in the above article.
I like the way he likens the fitness industry to fashion; in the sense that trends come and go, everything goes in cycles. Low-fat, low-carb, high-volume, low-volume etc.

It will be THAT much harder to maintain if you have a lot to lose. You’re better off having periods of maintenance, splitting up cutting periods to make them more sustainable.
