Fat Loss Tips – #18

Okay, so I appreciate that my weakness is probably that I have too much of a broad, macro-level perspective on fat loss. I have almost become dismissive of the “little things” that add up to success over time.

These things are incredibly important, especially if you’re a relative beginner, or haven’t made progress in a while. Whilst long-term strategic planning is key, you also need day to day success as well.

Here’s today’s 3 top fat loss tips:

Only Have Short-Term Goals If They Are Part Of Something Larger

Please read the above article, it’s great. It outlines the problem of today’s society and our obsession with instant gratification and he does a good job of giving real examples of what most people do when setting fitness goals. I’ve written about how long-term health goals should be a part of everyone’s life, forever, and the importance of realistic expectations with long-term fitness goals.

Don’t pursue a goal just because it’s beach season or just because you have a wedding coming up. These are journey’s that are destined to fail. What are you going to do after these deadlines? Get fat? Fitness is a lifestyle. Sure, it’s very difficult to make progress, but nothing worthwhile is easy.

Start Taking Serious Action Towards Habit-Building, Even If It’s Emotionally Difficult

The above is a great article on habit formation, and he makes an important point on feelings and emotions in relation to pursuing a goal/setting a habit. It ties in nicely with something I’ve heard before (for the life of me I can’t remember where):

“The difference between the successful man and the unsuccessful man is not (necessarily) laziness. It is that the successful man will do what he needs to do in order to succeed, even when he doesn’t feel like it.”

Great quote – very accurate.

Research Which Vitamins May Help You

This article is a good place to start. Although I’m not a supplement fan at all, they can be helpful under certain circumstances. Myself, for example, I take vitamin d3 and a general multivitamin. If you live in a climate which doesn’t see much sun, d3 is useful.

There you go; 3 quick but incredibly useful fat loss tips for you. Try them and your fat loss results will improve – get to work.
