Fat Loss Tips – #11

Okay, so I appreciate that my weakness is probably that I have too much of a broad, macro-level perspective on fat loss. I have almost become dismissive of the “little things” that add up to success over time.

These things are incredibly important, especially if you’re a relative beginner, or haven’t made progress in a while. Whilst long-term strategic planning is key, you also need day to day success as well.

Here’s today’s 3 top fat loss tips:

Don’t Cut Out Fruit

When people hear “eliminate sugar”, some of them assume this includes fruit. I understand where this kind of confusion comes in, but I do not suggest cutting out fruit. Fruit can be a great snack to satisfy genuine hunger, but also your sweet tooth.

Most fruit is also packed with fibre and micronutrients. It’s just not the same as eating junk food, even though it is still technically sugar. I would actually suggest replacing any sugary snacks you currently have with sugar. This should make it easier for you to transition into a low sugar diet.

Accept That Sometimes You Will Be Hungry

Hunger is a part of the game, especially if you’ve been dieting for multiple months. Accept this, and treat it as a sign that you are in fact losing fat, making progression beyond what your body is used to, and that this doesn’t necessarily mean you’re losing muscle (which is something I was terrified of when I was younger).

Have faith in the process. As long as you’re not starving yourself and you’re eating enough protein and performing enough total training volume, you’re fine.

Slow Down

Slow down, eat your food properly, and enjoy it. Sounds like something your mother would say when you were a kid, but it’s true. Your brain acknowledges the food properly when you eat slowly and chew the shit out of it. Your jaw gets a workout, and you just feel more satiated.

I did a blog post which ties in nicely with this actually – the most satiating foods. But the point is that everything becomes more satiating when you eat slower. One of the best fat loss tips also is to actually eat your calories, rather than drink them.

There you go; 3 quick but incredibly useful fat loss tips for you. Try them and your fat loss results will improve – get to work.
