This is another great article on T-Nation by Chris Shugart this time, Dani’s husband. I like these two. This article mainly focuses on diet compliance, and how it goes down the toilet if you have “bad” foods in close proximity to you. This is why I always say preparation is key.


If you are in control of your cupboards (and your weekly food shop), you are in control of the proximity of food, and hence diet compliance. If you have crappy foods in your cupboards, you’re in trouble.


The second part of the article starts talking about supplements THAT ARE OBVIOUSLY USELESS, so I don’t appreciate that, but apart from that I like how he talks about diet compliance.


The only “supplements” that actually put muscle on you are:


  1. Lots of food
  2. Steroids

Have Some Evening Snacks Otherwise You’ll End Up Binging


This does not mean cheat meals or cheat days. You need some rules to stay disciplined, but they are minor i.e don’t eat ice cream because you don’t f***ing need it. You do need some sweet snacks to some degree though in today’s society. There’s no escaping that. We don’t live in pre-historic cavemen times.


Gabriel’s overall message in this video is that the super-strict Bodybuilder-type diet doesn’t make sense for 99% of the population. It only applies to the unbelievably small niche that is professional Bodybuilders who get on stage and compete.
