Fat Loss Tips – #22

Okay, so I appreciate that my weakness is probably that I have too much of a broad, macro-level perspective on fat loss. I have almost become dismissive of the “little things” that add up to success over time.

These things are incredibly important, especially if you’re a relative beginner, or haven’t made progress in a while. Whilst long-term strategic planning is key, you also need day to day success as well.

Here’s today’s 3 top fat loss tips:

Don’t Procrastinate

Most people are all talk and no action. Do you want to be the same as last year. Do you want to look exactly the same on the beach. Be as weak as last month? No? Good. Get to work.

The above article is a great example of the classic procrastination. Most people only wish. They never even come close to their dreams.

Don’t Expect To Maintain Anything Whilst On Holiday

Unless you are a complete noob to the Fitness Game, you will regress in one way or another whilst on holiday. This will be in muscle loss and fat gain, ususally. If you do manage to train, you may well maintain your muscle, but you’ll definintely gain fat.

Set the correct expectations, and plan accordingly. If fitness it really, really important to you, and you desperately need to lose fat for health reasons, you would be wise not to go on holiday at all. Maybe just go for a short weekend break somewhere as a mini “reward” for your fat loss results, and treat it as a maintenance period.

The above video by Joe Delaney is a fantastic example of how easily you can regress on holiday even as someone who is genetically gifted for staying lean.

Never Ever Cut Your Calories Below Your BMR

Never ever do this.

It may seem sexy on the scale the next day: “Holy shit I’ve lost 10 pounds wow”. But all you’re doing is creating long-term problems and stress for yourself. To put this into financial terms, it’s like going into a load of debt with high interest repayments. Stupid. Go slowly and sustainably and you won’t get yourself into a hole you can’t fight your way out of.

Btw it’s tip #9 in the above article.

There you go; 3 quick but incredibly useful fat loss tips for you. Try them and your fat loss results will improve – get to work.
