After another morning of scrolling through Twitter notifications, helping guys out with fat loss…
I’ve written before that the goal of a diet is not fat loss per se, certainly not temporary fat loss.
In fact, millions of people prove me right every single year, by achieving significant, but temporary weight loss, only to rebound and gain all of it back again and more.
The goal rather, is to reduce your appetite. So much so, that you would never even dream of eating a consistent calorie surplus again, because you would simply get sick of all the food.
This is what leads to long-term weight loss without the rebound.
But the question is, how exactly do we go about doing that?
Get Shredded Forever
To make ourselves want to eat less food, the first things we need to drastically reduce are sugar and alcohol.
Both are addictive. Both will make you want to consume more calories on top of this. Both will keep you fat.
Secondly, we need to narrow the eating ‘window’. The typical eating window is 16 hours for most people. There’s a couple of problems with this.
The reality is that it’s not difficult to get 3000 calories down your neck when you’re eating for 16 hours; around the clock.
But if you were to reduce this eating window down to 6-8 hours, you’re playing a different ballgame entirely. You’ll find it next to impossible to get 3000 calories in within a 6 hour period, assuming you have eliminated both sugar and alcohol already.
Thirdly, you need to consume coffees to ‘bridge the gap’, during the waking hours spent fasted. The caffeine will ramp up your metabolism, which is helpful. But again the theme here, is that it will make you want to eat less food. Awesome.
These are three basic steps you need to take in order to have a chance of long-term success with fat loss.
