Not many people have this at all, yet it’s crucial for any long-term, difficult goal that you want to achieve. Want to get shredded? You need discipline. Want to get huge? You need discipline.
A lot of discipline is essentially a combination of habit formation and the will to push yourself to do something even when your emotions are telling you not to.
I think some key tactics to make this more feasible are:
- Start off with modest goals – DO NOT jump in at the metaphorical deep end
- Schedule reminders in your calendar to do these required tasks (think meal prep, gym sessions, walks etc.)
- Remind yourself of your goals and your discomfort on a daily basis
