Great article. Very clickbaitey, but if you get down to his 6 main points, he says similar things to me. Great article, and I think you should have a read. He also talks about un-met emotional needs as children (that most children suffer to some degree at some point), but some soothe with food more than others.
The legendary Mike Israetel, who, with Eric Helms, conducted the “Bulking Debate”, talks about organic food, and some of the myths associated with it.
Slowly increase the number of calories you burn per day. But remember that it’s crucial that you don’t fall into the trap that most people do. This means you avoid thinking, “oh I worked so hard in the gym today, therefore I can eat x, y and z”, no no no no no no no no.
This is why you must track calories, even if loosely. Increase the calorie burn without increasing the calorie intake simultaneously. But the magic with cardio is that if you’re doing a lot per week, say 4 sessions with 500 calories burned in each session, it grants you a lot more caloric freedom on a weekly basis.
The way to look at this IS NOT “THIS IS ONLY THE EQUIVALENT OF 2 CHOCOLATE BARS!!!”
That’s incredibly stupid and short-sighted.
The correct way to look at cardio is that this is an extra 2000 calories per week that you have leeway with that you otherwise wouldn’t have. It grants you dietary freedom, assuming you keep the consistency going.
