I believe that the majority of men’s problems in current Western society stem from laziness, and ultimately, comfort. Comfort makes you fat, plain and simple; never allow yourself to become too comfortable. This means goal-setting, developing a life mission, and always putting in the maintenance work (which requires discipline).
Do the above, and you will not get fat ever again.
You also need to work on your mindset. I’ve spoken before about the Alpha vs Beta mindset, and the long-term vs short-term mindset.
Another mindset to have is to avoid prioritising the short-term over the long-term, because when you do this you always set a limit on your long-term potential.
Think of the guy who:
- Orders Friday night take-aways
- Goes to the pub/bar every weekend
- Drinks regularly
- Skips gym sessions
- Dives into the cupboards after a stressful day at work
In all of the above examples he is forgetting about the long-term consequences. Stupid. Always have the long-term in mind. It’s better for your long-term happiness, your confidence and your fulfilment. Don’t short-change yourself.
